Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Financial Controller to join our team. This role is vital to operational finance, focusing on fast-paced transactions integral to the business. The Financial Controller will manage daily financial operations related to all shipments, ensuring efficient invoicing, cost management, and profit maximisation. The role requires frequent phone communication with shipping providers, suppliers, and clients, so fluency in English and confident, articulate speaking skills are essential. The ideal candidate should be personable and comfortable engaging with clients and service providers over the phone.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BCom Accounting / Financial Management / CIMA
  • Strong academic background with Mathematics
  • Proficient in English

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily finance operations for assigned shipments, including client invoicing and supplier invoice processing
  • Liaise directly with clients on shipments, update clients, respond to client queries, and act as the intermediary between the client and various other business units.
  • Oversee cash receipts and bank reconciliations
  • Handle debtor management and payment processing
  • Manage shipments from a financial perspective
  • Collaborate with shipping providers, suppliers, and clients to ensure timely and professional communication

Join a finance team and contribute to managing an increasing volume of transactions due to new client acquisitions. This role reports to the financial manager within the business unit and works closely with other financial controllers and managers.
