Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. The Finance Manager is a key professional responsible for overseeing the organisation's financial health. You will develop and implement financial strategies, manage budgets, forecast revenue, and analyse financial data to inform business decisions. As the Finance Manager, you will also ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws, and provide guidance on investment and funding opportunities. Your ultimate goal is to optimise financial performance, minimise risk, and drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the below, for at least 3 different companies:

  • Daily maintenance of the books of account for the Company and its affiliated companies including daily capturing of entries to the General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers from verified source documents.
  • The maintaining and updating the orderly filing of all accounting records including source documents and reconciliations.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts in line with the company's reporting requirements (as set by Management from time to time) for presentation to management.
  • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements in line with IFRS for Board approval.
  • Engaging with and timeously responding to external auditors during the course of the annual and interim audits so as to ensure the timely and successful conclusion of audits.
  • Engaging with and responding timeously to internal audit requests.
  • Management of payments processes including the preparation and dissemination of payment documents for approval.
  • Liaison with bankers where required.
  • Liaison with customers and suppliers of the Company and its affiliated companies where necessary.
  • Updating budgets and forecast with actual results where applicable.
  • Responsible for statutory filings (Tax, Annual Returns etc.)
  • Monitoring monthly Cash Flow requirements.
  • Assisting with the Treasury function by maximising returns on Funds place on Call or Notice and managing the process.
  • Maintaining a detailed Asset Register.
  • Loading of Salary Transfers monthly.
  • Assisting with the purchase of Office consumables for staff and guests.
  • Any other Accounting related functions that could reasonably be expected of you.
  • Special projects.
Stakeholder and Client Communication
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Directors of each company to ensure they are aware and informed of all accounting matters.
Requirements

Qualifications
  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Technical Skills
  • Financial planning and analysis: Budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Accounting and financial reporting: financial statements, and regulatory compliance
  • Financial management systems: Microsoft Office Suite, Pastel Accounting and Zero.
  • Financial modelling and forecasting: Ability to create complex financial models and forecasts.
Soft Skills
  • Communication and presentation: Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Leadership and management: Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Strategic thinking: Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaboration and teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience: In a finance management role, preferably in a similar industry
  • Industry expertise: Knowledge of the industry, including trends, challenges, and regulations

  • Adaptability and flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
