Ensure the Groups’ overall building infrastructure and services are functional and meet tenants and landlord requirements.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Direct, coordinate and plan essential services such as reception, security and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA).
  • A keen attention to detail, especially the ability to quickly spot threats to safety.
  • Making sure the buildings are safe, in accordance with applicable regulations and that no fire or other hazards exist.
  • Directing responsibilities to other staff members and evaluating their performance.
  • Implementing new technology into processes if required.
  • Suggesting and discussing areas for improvement with management.
  • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
  • Allocate office space according to needs.
  • Handle insurance plans and service contracts.
  • Managing the budgets and accounts, taking equipment audits.
  • Implement process and procedures.
  • Risk Management
  • Sourcing and overseeing contracts and service providers.
  • Advising businesses on measures to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Dealing with emergencies as they arise.
  • Ensuring that facilities meet compliance standards and government regulations.
  • Planning for the future by forecasting the facility’s upcoming needs and requirements.
  • Overseeing any renovations, refurbishments, and building projects.

  • Excellent leadership skills to manage maintenance team and contractors

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Negotiation skills for negotiating contracts and for managing projects
  • The ability to set targets, deadlines and budgets
  • Sound problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational and planning skills to ensure that all areas are taken care of in a disciplined, periodic manner

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5-7 years or more experience in a Facilities Management position
