We are currently looking for a Designer to join Tropic Knits Group. This role focuses on designing multiproduct knits across our ranges therefore, a technical understanding in this area is important.

Tropic Knits Group, part of the textile cluster of CIEL Group, is one of the largest Fine Knits manufacturers in the Indian Ocean. Our clients, based in the UK, Europe, South Africa and USA, include some of the world's best-known high street retailers and sports brand. Tropic Knits Group is a global entity which operates factories in Mauritius, Madagascar and India.
We are currently looking for a Designer to join Tropic Knits Group. This role focuses on designing multiproduct knits across our ranges therefore, a technical understanding in this area is important.
What you will be doing:
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of clear concise technical CAD design specifications, creating within specified time frame by using ideas from the initial design concept.
- Collaborate with the Senior Design team to help create a design strategy for each brand/season, trend overviews, and design collections.
- Work closely with the Product Development team to participate in fit sessions
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and handling the workload in a calm and professional manner.
- Be aware of emerging fashion and cultural trends and be adept at interpreting cutting-edge creative design.
What are we looking for?
- Ability to come up with strong and unique design ideas.
- Possess a high-level skill set with all Adobe creative suite such as Photoshop, XD, Illustrator.
- Passion & purpose: Must be comfortable working in a highly dynamic/flexible environment.
- Decision maker: Must be comfortable in assessing situations and taking quick decisions.
- Organisation: You will need to be organised and methodical, a self-starter who can manage your own work.
- Attention to detail: Apply a forensic approach to each stage of the design process to ensure an ideal 'right-first-time' outcome.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Degree or Diploma in Design or a related field
