The coordinator - Operations is responsible to execute all day-to-day activities/ tasks within Payments Unit and report to the Line Manager of Business Operations.
The Coordinator - Operations is responsible to execute all the day to day activities/ tasks within Payments Unit and report to the Line Manager of Business Operations.
This role is responsible to provide leadership, support and guidance to the team and ensures compliance with established MauBank’s regulatory guidelines, procedures and provide high quality service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for processing of payments and remittances emanating from customers and other banks as per the respective Bank of Mauritius cut off time.
- Responsible for the day to day running of the Clearing unit and the Post Office Support Desk.
- Ensure all backend processes and procedures are followed within the defined SLA for below banking services under Payments:
- Salary Processing
- Internal transfers
- MACSS (In/out)
- Direct Debit
- EFT in/out
- MNS/CNP
- Standing Order
- Cheque Book Request
- Online payments
- Archive Retrieval
- Resolve discrepancy noted and escalated where required.
- Attend to customer’s query within established SLA
- Ensure proper reconciliation with the Bank of Mauritius’ statement and any other transfers effected wherever applicable.
- Ensure all proper documentations and compliance as required for customer & merchant signup and process for approvals.
- Data capture & verification of customer information amongst other related operations tasks.
- To ensure adherence to all banking policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- To ensure all KYC and Anti-Money Laundering requirements are being followed. To make regular checks and record/report findings.
- To ensure proper record keeping at all times.
- Ensure reporting in a timely manner to the Line Manager for any exceptions, issues, road blocks being encountered during the day to day operations.
PREREQUISITES:
- Candidate should have minimum at least a diploma or degree in Finance or Banking from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of banking experience in similar environment would be an advantage.
- Well versed with Banking guidelines, Policies & Procedures (internal & external) and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of information, be ethical and willingness to work during odd hours.
SKILLS:
- Adherence to the professional code of ethics;
- Team player, self-motivated and well organized;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Good analytical skills; and
- Prepared to go extra miles to meet deadline.
- Proficient in Excel and using its advance features for reconciliation, reporting and tracking.
