Job Duties:

  • Plan daily production in terms of quantity and quality of items to be prepared according to standards and procedures;
  • Ensure that subordinates have all necessary commodities required for production;
  • Starts, monitors and complete cooking operations, in line with standards in term of hygiene, quality, quantity, timing and costs;
  • Ensure that service operations are carried out as per standards and up to guests’ satisfaction;
  • Maintains and complies with hygienic standards and practices within the Kitchen areas;
  • Handles, and ensures the handling of, materials and equipment properly so as to avoid breakages, wastage and accidents
Candidate Profile:
  • School Certificate or equivalent;
  • A NC Level 4 in Kitchen operations from Mauritius Institute of Training and Development or equivalent;
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the Hotel Industry in the F&B – Kitchen section;
  • Good communication and organisational skills;
  • Should possess a pleasant and outgoing personality;
  • Be able to demonstrate good leadership skills and strong willingness to improve upon work performance and result to be achieve;
  • Positive mental attitude and desire to learn to enhance performance;
  • Be health and safety conscious and conversant with HACCP requirements to ensure compliance thereof at work;
  • Able and willing to perform odd hours of work including Sundays, public holidays and cyclonic days;
  • Able to work mainly night shift
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and French
