We are looking for an Export Control Senior Analyst with expertise in analyzing automated alerts, ensuring compliance with international regulations, and providing guidance to the team on export controls, dual-use goods, and trade sanction

 

Main roles of central Export control senior analyst:
Analysis tasks (take part in production)
  • Using a web application that analyses parcel data to review and analyse parcel data alerts in real time.
  • Cross-analyse parcel data provided in the web application with open source information, in line with predefined investigation rules.
  • Identify false positives, ie. find out which alerts can be dismissed based on additional research and analysis.
  • Request more information from the client / business unit when required to determine whether an export licence is required.
  • Check the consistency between an export parcel and an export licence if the sending customer holds one (eg. destination, type of product, validity date, etc).

Team leader tasks

  • Provide guidance to Export Control analysts when they escalate complex cases.
  • Contribute to the quality of the analyses made by the central Export Control analysis team.
  • Contribute to the allocation of tasks and prioritisation among the central Export
  • Control analysis team.
  • Act as a link between the central Export Control analysts and the local managers.
  • Propose improvements that would help the central Export Control analysis team perform their tasks effectively.

Job requirements and skills
Analysis skills
  • Computer literacy and ability to navigate web applications.
  • Searches in web open sources. Knowledge of basic open source intelligence techniques is an advantage.
  • Ability to apply risk-based analysis in line with predefined rules of investigation.
  • Ability to use judgement to decide when to further escalate cases.
  • Being familiar with Tariff nomenclature classification (HS, HTS) is an advantage.
  • Being familiar with Export control regulations, including international sanctions and dual-use goods (US EAR, UK, EU regulations,…) is an advantage.
Soft skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Curiosity -an interest in international relations would be an asset.
  • Proactive.
  • Willingness to learn and grow. Interest in taking part in, and improving a newly created activity within a multinational group.
Languages
  • English.
  • Other languages would be an advantage.
