Manages the operation of the Bar, offering the maximum in service to Hotel guests through good planning and co-ordination, both internally and with other departments.
Reporting to the Food & Beverages Manager, the successful incumbent will be accountable to:
- Plan, co-ordinate and supervise the smooth and efficient operation of the bar as per instructions of the Food & Beverages Manager.
- Manage the operation of the Bar, offering the maximum in service to Hotel guests through good planning and co-ordination, both internally and with other departments.
- Monitor inventory of beverages to ensure adequate stock is maintained.
- Oversee cleanliness of team member and physical bar area, paying special attention to possible health hazards and code violations
- Review sales and beverage costs, and reconcile any discrepancies in accounting. Ensure proper cash management
- Resolve guests complaints promptly and according to company guidelines
- Oversee the preparation of beverages and ensure quality of product served
- Assist the Food & Beverages Manager with organising and facilitating on-the-job training and coaching sessions in order to develop knowledge and competencies
- Oversee the bar display to maximize functionality and attractiveness
- Handle customer complaints efficiently through appropriate interaction and action and/or referral to Management
- Answer queries about all items on the bar lists, their basic ingredients and method of preparation
- Oversee that an excellent service is offered to guests by team members
- Accompany the Food & Beverage Manager during frequent quality spot-checks within the bar/beach with regards to work habits, storage and par stocks
- Promote special events and theme nights
QUALIFICATIONS
NC3 – Restaurant & Bar Services
PREVIOUS PERFORMANCE
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar position preferably in a 5 star resort.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- High levels of integrity.
- Passionate about service.
- Creative and innovative.
- Proactive, dynamic, flexible and professional attitude with outstanding interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French languages. A third language will be a definite advantage.
- Willingness to work during odd hours, weekends as well as on public holidays.
- A valid food handlers’ certificate.
- A clean certificate of character is a must.
