The Associate Lecturer will primarily be involved in dispensing courses to students, preparing course materials, preparing, administering and marking assignments and attending to related responsibilities as outlined in the job description.
Post: Associate Lecturer Pharmacology
Salary: Rs 25,000 – 40,000
(Negotiable on the basis of experience and qualifications)
Duration: Contractual basis for two years, may be considered for permanent and pensionable establishment upon satisfactory completion of contractual employment
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor Degree in the field or relevant field from a recognised institution
- A Master’s Degree in the relevant field would constitute an advantage
Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in the relevant field.
- Experience in teaching, developing, delivery and implementation of courses in the field preferably in an education environment or at industry level as a trainer would constitute an advantage.
- At least six months in both the medical wards and the surgical wards and in any two or more of the following units is desirable; Accident and Emergency, Orthopaedics, Burns and Cardiology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics.
Knowledge and Skills:
Candidates should –
- Have fluency in English Language.
- Show Positive attitude, problem solving and decision making skills;
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills; mainly towards customers (student and parents).
- be IT literate.
Candidates should produce written evidence of experience/knowledge claimed.
Duties.
- To report to the Programme Leader Nursing or any delegated officer;
- To facilitate lectures, conduct tutorials, design syllabi, prepare written material for class uses and bridge theory to practice in the classroom and beyond;
- To set class assignments and tests, prepare examination papers, mark scripts and input marks in the Student Information System;
- To participate in Academic Committees and Examination boards;
- To liaise with Industry stakeholders for the placement of students;
- To coordinate with our academic partner, receive training and maintain quality assurance on all academic related work;
- To promote and participate in the organisation of programmes, events, and activities aimed at showcasing PML’s active involvement in the field;
- To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Associate Lecturer Pharmacology in the roles ascribed to him/her.
