The Assistant Accountant supports the accounting department by performing various financial and administrative tasks. They help maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and ensure compliance with accounting regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting & Financial Tasks:
- Assist in bookkeeping and maintaining financial records.
- Process invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assist in preparing tax documents and VAT declarations.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
3. Administrative Duties:
- Organize and file accounting documents and reports.
- Maintain an updated database of financial transactions.
- Assist in preparing budgets and expense reports.
4. Audit & Compliance:
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Ensure financial transactions comply with company policies and legal requirements.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in the hospitality industry will be an advantage
Skills:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Sage).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
