The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service standards and quality for guests.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Beverage Operations Management
- Oversee the day-to-day beverage operations in the hotel’s bars, lounges, restaurants, and any event-related beverage services. Ensure efficient workflow and guest satisfaction.
- Menu Development
- Collaborate with the culinary team to design and update seasonal beverage menus, including innovative cocktails, wine lists, and non-alcoholic beverages, tailored to guest preferences and trends.
- Staff Management & Training
- Recruit, hire, train, and schedule beverage staff, ensuring they provide exceptional service, possess extensive product knowledge, and follow the hotel’s standards for hospitality.
- Inventory Control
- Manage beverage inventory, ensuring stock levels are adequate and cost-effective. Order supplies, monitor usage, and minimize waste to maintain profit margins. Track and control beverage costs to ensure budgetary compliance.
- Supplier Relations & Purchasing
- Develop relationships with beverage suppliers, negotiate pricing and contracts, and ensure high-quality products are sourced. Evaluate new products and ensure consistency of supply.
- Quality Control & Service Standards
- Monitor beverage quality to ensure drinks meet hotel standards, focusing on consistency, presentation, and taste. Conduct regular quality checks and address any guest complaints or issues.
- Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations concerning alcohol service, food safety, and hygiene. Maintain liquor licenses and ensure all beverage staff are trained in responsible alcohol service.
- Event & Banquet Coordination
- Support the planning and execution of special events, weddings, and meetings with customized beverage services. Work closely with the Event Planning team to create tailored beverage experiences.
- Financial Reporting
- Track beverage sales, monitor profitability, and analyze performance metrics. Prepare reports on inventory levels, sales, costs, and trends to assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Guest Interaction
- Engage with guests during their dining experience, addressing any beverage-related queries or concerns. Ensure guests have a high-quality experience with a personal touch.
- Collaboration
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Any other cognate duties may be assigned.
CRITERIA:
- Diploma in Hospitality Management, Certificate in Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in beverage management or related positions in a hotel or high-end restaurant environment. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is required.
- Responsible Beverage Service Certification, Food Safety Certification.
- Fluency in English and French; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control.
