A successful Assistant Accountant will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
Candidates should;
- Be fluent in English/French, both written and oral.
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Well organised, proactive and can-do attitude.
- Preferably living in the eastern region.
- At least 3 years proven experience in a similar position.
- Minimum ACCA Level 1
Job description:
- Maintaining database on the companies system, ensuring that records are complete and current.
- Recording information, processing, and filing forms.
- Prepare purchase orders and payment vouchers.
- Create and process invoices on quickbooks and excel (purchases and sales)
- Chase debtors and suppliers regularly and submitting/requesting statement of accounts on time.
- Preparing cheques and deposits.
- Bank data entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, and monthly/yearly financial reports.
- Updating general ledgers, researching, and resolving discrepancies.
- Preparation of monthly, yearly or periodically third party returns and reports (VAT, PAYE, CSG, PRGF, Annual Returns etc)
- Abiding by all company procedures and accounting principles.
- Responding appropriately to a vendor, client, external and internal requests.
- Inventory counting
- Assist in implementing a sound internal control system and procedures.
- Any other cognate duties relevant to the accounting and administration function.
