The Accounts Clerk has the main responsibility to verify and ensure the correctness of entries on PMS and prepare reports for various hotel departments.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Accounts Clerk has the main responsibility to verify and ensure the correctness of entries on PMS and prepare reports for various hotel departments.

The Accounts Clerk is also responsible for the preparation and disposition of all Night Audit Work.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply and ensure the proper application of standards and procedures set by the company and those resulting from the Hotel Accounts Policy.
  • Ensure that all new arrivals in the hotel (Check In) have been entered correctly in the Front Office system and that the correct rates have been applied.
  • Ensure that any departure from the hotel (Check Out) has been cleared from the Front Office System correctly and that all guests’ extras are zero balance.
  • Ensure that all revenue properly raised and allocated to correct account.
  • Report any difference/anomalies/discrepancies in writing to the concerned department and ensure/action on follow up done.
  • Ensure that all cash and credit transactions are recorded as per set procedure.
  • Ensure exactness of back up files and well as maintenance of any Night Audit related files.
  • Ensure that all changes in date are done correctly, i.e., business date, point of sales date, audit date and telephone date.
  • Prepare reports for management and ensure the correctness of its information.
  • Perform routine checks and inspections are performed accurately as per Internal Audit requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective employee relation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • HSC or equivalent (with Accounts or Mathematics)
  • Computer literate
  • Also knowledge of Opera and Accounting procedures would be an advantage.
  • Team Player
  • Having a flexible approach to work
