We are on the lookout for an Accountant to ensure smooth running of the accounting department and that transactions are efficiently recorded so as to ensure transparency.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, develop and control all aspects associated with the completion of all local statutory reporting and tax issues, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Fixed Assets Management, Bank Reconciliations, managing tax issues, and dealing with Internal and External Auditors.
- Produce monthly, quarterly and yearly Financial Statements (Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet, Bank Reconciliation, Cash Flow Statements and other financial reports) as required by management and local statutory institutions.
- Provide timely management information and to advise senior management
- Ensure timely filling of government reports (Corporate tax, NPS, PAYE, VAT, TDS…)
- Oversee and review posting of entries into accounting system
- Ensure timely payment by debtors and to creditors.
- Monitoring of cash flow of organization and ensuring assets are adequately safeguarded.
- Ensure safe and sound internal controls and systems are in place.
- Monthly meetings to analyze variance comparison for actuals against budget, providing explanation to management.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Qualification:
- Degree in Accounting and Finance or ACCA Level 2
- Holding a ACCA Level 3 would constitute an advantage.
Experience:
- At least 5 years' experience
Knowledge and Technical Competencies:
- Accounting standards, IAS, IFRS, Costing techniques
Behavioural Competencies:
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
