📌 JOB DESCRIPTION – ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

📍 Location: MOKA
📆 Duration: 5-month temporary contract (with the possibility of a permanent position)

📝 Job Brief

We are looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our Finance Department with daily accounting and administrative tasks. You will work closely with the Accountant to ensure proper procedures, controls, and financial records are maintained.

This role also involves clerical support, including filing, handling emails and calls, basic bookkeeping, and reporting.

🔹 Responsibilities

✔️ Monitor daily communications and respond to queries 📩
✔️ Assist in preparing statutory accounts 📑
✔️ Ensure payments, amounts, and records are accurate ✅
✔️ Work with spreadsheets, sales & purchase ledgers, and journals 📊
✔️ Record and file cash transactions 🏦
✔️ Follow up on debtors with respective institutions 🔄
✔️ Process and file invoices 🗂️
✔️ Handle expense requests for Accountant approval 💵
✔️ Perform bank reconciliations 🏦
✔️ Liaise with third-party providers, clients, and suppliers 🤝
✔️ Maintain and update procedural documentation 📝
✔️ Plan, attend, and report on stock takes 📦
✔️ Ensure sales and purchase invoices are properly recorded 📜
✔️ Follow up on supplier payments based on treasury position 💳
✔️ Process cash sales and debtor receipts accurately 💰
✔️ Maintain an effective and organized accounts filing system 📂


🎯 Requirements

🔹 Education: BSc in Accounting or equivalent
🔹 Experience: Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant is a plus 🌟
🔹 Languages: Fluent in English & French 🗣️
🔹 Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail 🔍
  • Proficiency in MS Office & QuickBooks 💻
  • Excellent numerical & analytical skills 🔢
  • Highly organized & structured 📅
  • Trustworthy & discreet when handling confidential information 🔒
