Job Qualifications

Currently, we are looking for an ambitious and energetic Service Delivery Operations Lead who will be responsible in ensuring:

  • smooth accounting operations within the established timeframe,
  • monthly accounting and reporting activities are executed in line with the month-end closed timetable and client guidelines.
  • Ensure all service level agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Business Outcome Indicators (BOIs) are met on a monthly basis.
  • Governance calls in place with client stakeholders to provide timely status and discuss medium- and long-term process improvements.
  • People engagement to drive seamless delivery with a highly skilled and motivated workforce/team.

  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Supervise and oversee AP/ GL entries and bookkeeping of payment of vendor invoices and expense vouchers, receiving and posting cash receipts, posting of invoices, reconciling outstanding account balances, maintenance of accurate records and control reports, etc. 
  • Guide and support team to resolve day to day issues in service delivery such as complex reconciliations.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Adherence to set standards and compliance requirements - Ensure compliance within current operating model, client financial and accounting principles, and statutory requirements and ensure implementation of internal control is adhered to.\ Influence and challenge key stakeholders effectively.
  • Setting day-to-day operational objectives for the team.
  • Respond to critical, technical or other issues escalated by own team.
  • People management who can have more than 20+ resources under his/her span.
  • Support team members with less experience - Provide assistance and training to lower-level employees.
  • May be responsible for leading daily operations. 
  • Delegating and reviewing the work of subordinates.
  • Ensure the monthly accounting and reporting activities are executed in line in accordance with the month-end closed timetable.
  • Assist with any ad hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of the department as required.
  • Generate daily and ad-hoc reports.
  • Perform daily & weekly tasks as assigned by the Project Lead.
  • Perform MEC activities as assigned by Project Lead.
  • Support on External & Internal Audit exercise.
  • Conducts work/ capacity planning, estimation, and prioritization to optimize performance of group/resources.
  • Provides and implements workable solutions to business issues/problems with minimum referral to senior management.
  • Operates largely independently in meeting defined business objectives and goals.
  • Performs complex tasks and participates in complex cross-area/function activities.

  

Job Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  •  Strong accounting literacy.
  • Excellent communicator, both written and oral. Must be able to communicate at the Senior Management Team level. 
  • Ability to clearly articulate expectations – clearly define what is expected of team members. 
  • Strong people management skills and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good at establishing working relationships and developing personal contacts in a cross-functional and cross-cultural environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a problem-solver.
  • Self-driven personality with a highly independent working capacity.
  • Integrity - A personal drive that motivates people and demonstrates personal commitment through every action.
  • Good knowledge of local business culture.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Positive can-do attitude and service excellence.
  • Compliant and rule conscientious.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Standards and Legal Requirements regarding Financial Processes.
  • More than 5 years of experience in the accounting department.
  • Experience in the Accounts Payables department will be an advantage.
  • University degree preferably accounting/finance or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English & French.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office tools – Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
