We are a leading Offshore Management Company, member of an International Organisation, located in Ebene. Our organisation is currently searching for an Accounts Officer.

 

JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTS OFFICER

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Accounts Officer shall report to the Finance Manager/Director and will be responsible in providing efficient, accounting, office and clerical duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform bookkeeping entries in the accounting software system;
  • Record transactions in the correct journals and post the entries to the relevant ledger accounts;
  • Preparation of VAT return on a monthly basis;
  • Ensure that source documents and other relevant paperwork are filed correctly;
  • Ensure all suppliers invoices are appropriately authorised for payment, and captured daily;
  • Make supplier payments in accordance to instructions from Management and suppliers due date;
  • Do monthly bank reconciliations;
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of all accounts;
  • Capture & reconcile petty cash accounts;
  • Provide clerical and administrative support;
  • Follow up outstanding creditors, maintain records and provide reports as required;
  • Ensure that all financial records are accurate and timely for end of financial year audits.
  • Assist with office projects from time to time – providing specific bookkeeping support, research and report writing;
  • Provide accountants and auditors with access to the relevant financial documents;
  • Undertake any other specific duties as required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Excellent computer processing skills for record keeping purposes;
  2. Highly motivated with an ability to solve practical problems;
  3. Attention to detail and the ability to organize complex information neatly and accurately;
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills;
  5. Self-directed with an ability to learn a systematic approach to accounting and to follow the approach without direction to maintain the integrity of the financial data;
  6. Sound written and verbal communications skills; and
  7. Reliable and trustworthy individual
  8. Knowledge of MS Office Package

Qualifications

  • HSC Holder;
  • ACCA level 1 or any other related course would be an advantage

 Work Experience

  • Maximum 3 years proven accounting or related experience;
  • Knowledge of pastel accounting would be an advantage
