Job Title: General Maintenance Technician
Department: Building Maintenance
The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance across the property’s building systems and facilities. The role includes basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, carpentry, and general repair work to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. The technician responds to maintenance requests, conducts routine inspections, troubleshoots faults, and supervise any contractors on site. The General Maintenance Technician should be punctual, flexible with shifts and work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checklists to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Maintain equipment and facilities in good operational condition.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical faults.
- Carry out pool maintenance.Replace defective components such as switches, bulbs, sockets, valves, faucets,locks, and fittings.
- Carry out minor repairs to walls, ceilings, doors, flooring, and furniture.
- Carry out daily inspection of the property.
- Be responsible of tools provided to him.
- Flexibility to handle emergency maintenance outside normal working hours.
- Assist in preparing the building and facilities for cyclonic conditions, including securing equipment, inspecting drainage systems, protecting vulnerable areas,setting sandbags and supporting emergency preparedness procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Technical certification or vocational training in building maintenance (NC3/NC4 in Electrical/Mechanical or equivalent qualification preferred).
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial, or facilities environment.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to read simple technical drawings and manuals.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond under pressure.
- Clean Certificate of Character.
