Job Description

Join our dynamic team in Port Louis as we seek a passionate Maintenance Technician to support our Engineering, Electronics, and Mechanics operations. This full-time position offers a fantastic opportunity for those with a diploma background to grow their careers in an innovative environment.

The Maintenance Technician will assist the Maintenance Coordinator for ensuring that buildings & yards, fleet of vehicles, workshop equipment and tools are properly maintained and can be safely operated. Your role will involve ensuring the functionality and reliability of our machinery and equipment through regular maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting in the Workshop department.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be a critical asset to our operations. 

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and equipment faults.
  • Perform routine inspections to identify potential breakdowns and maintenance requirements.
  • Repair, replace, and adjust faulty components as required.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts used.
  • Assist in planned maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in good condition.
  • Follow health, safety, environmental, and company procedures at all times.
  • Work closely with production and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or industrial environment will be an advantage.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Willingness to work odd hours or provide emergency support when required.
