Warehouse Manager - Madagascar

This position is based in Madagascar. The successful candidate will be required to relocate and work there permanently. If you are not willing to relocate to Madagascar, please do not apply for this position.  

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the overall management, performance and operational efficiency of the warehouse. The role involves overseeing inventory, storage and distribution activities, managing warehouse teams and ensuring that operations meet the company's business requirements.
The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen warehouse processes, optimise resources, maintain effective stock control and work closely with other departments to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management and distribution, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company procedures.
2. Develop and implement warehouse processes and operational improvements to optimise productivity, storage capacity and overall performance.
3. Ensure effective inventory management through accurate stock records, regular stock audits and appropriate controls to minimise discrepancies, losses and damaged goods.
4. Lead and develop the warehouse team, ensuring effective workforce planning, clear accountability and achievement of operational targets.
5. Work closely with procurement, logistics, sales and other departments to ensure effective coordination of stock availability, deliveries and distribution requirements.
6. Manage warehouse operating costs, monitor budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency without compromising service quality.
7. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to inventory accuracy, operational productivity, order fulfilment and cost management.
8. Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, internal procedures and applicable regulations, maintaining a safe and secure warehouse environment.
9. Oversee warehouse systems, equipment and infrastructure, identifying opportunities for automation, process improvement and better utilisation of resources.
10. Anticipate operational challenges, resolve stock and distribution issues and implement corrective measures to ensure business continuity.
11. Prepare and present regular operational reports to management, highlighting warehouse performance, key challenges and improvement initiatives.
12. Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's supply chain and logistics strategy.

Candidate Profile

1. Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or a related field.
2. Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in warehouse management, logistics or distribution, including experience in a managerial position.
3. Experience managing large-scale warehouse operations, preferably within FMCG, retail, manufacturing or distribution.
4. Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP and stock control procedures.
5. Demonstrated experience in managing operational budgets, improving warehouse processes and implementing cost-control initiatives.
6. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage performance and drive operational improvements.
7. Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound operational decisions.
8. Good understanding of supply chain operations, logistics coordination and health and safety requirements.
9. Ability to work across departments, manage competing priorities and deliver results in a demanding operational environment.
10. Fluent in French. Knowledge of Malagasy and English would be an advantage.
