Job Description – Waiting Staff (Bar & Restaurant)

Position: WE ARE LOOKING FOR 3 WAITING STAFFS 

Waiter / Waitress – Bar & Restaurant
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports to: Restaurant Supervisor / Bar Supervisor / Restaurant Manager
Location: Hotel / Resort

Job Purpose

To provide professional, efficient and friendly food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a high standard of hospitality and guest satisfaction in both the restaurant and bar areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet guests warmly and professionally.
  • Present menus and provide information about food, beverages, cocktails and daily specials.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system.
  • Serve food, wines, cocktails and other beverages according to established service standards.
  • Prepare tables and service areas before opening and maintain proper mise-en-place throughout the shift.
  • Ensure tables are clean, properly set and promptly cleared and reset.
  • Check guest satisfaction during service and respond quickly to requests.
  • Communicate allergies, dietary requirements and special requests accurately to the kitchen and bar teams.
  • Have good knowledge of the menu, ingredients, beverages and promotions in order to make appropriate recommendations and upsell.
  • Prepare and serve basic beverages when required and support bar operations.
  • Process bills and payments accurately in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant, bar and service stations.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and immediately inform the Supervisor or Manager when necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of glasses, cutlery, crockery, linen and service equipment.
  • Assist with stocktaking and report shortages, breakages or damaged equipment.
  • Work closely with Kitchen, Bar, Stewarding and other Food & Beverage colleagues to ensure smooth service.
  • Support special events, banquets, functions and other F&B outlets when required.
  • Maintain professional grooming, appearance and behaviour in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Supervisor or Management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Waiter/Waitress or in Food & Beverage service, preferably in a hotel, resort or quality restaurant.
  • Good knowledge of restaurant and bar service.
  • Basic knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails and food pairing is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Guest-oriented with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Good personal presentation and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; French and additional languages are an advantage.
