FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR – JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Food & Beverage Supervisor
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Outlet Manager / Assistant Outlet Manager
A. JOB FUNCTION
The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day Food & Beverage service operations within the assigned outlet, ensuring that service is delivered efficiently and according to the Hotel’s five-star standards.
The Supervisor leads the service team during the shift, ensures guest satisfaction, monitors service quality, and supports the Outlet Manager in maintaining operational, hygiene and service standards.
B. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Previous supervisory experience within Food & Beverage, preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment.
Strong guest relations and customer service skills.
Good leadership and team supervision abilities.
Good knowledge of restaurant and beverage service.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Professional attitude, integrity and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, Public Holidays and special events.
C. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Restaurant Operations
Supervise the efficient day-to-day operation of the assigned Food & Beverage outlet.
Ensure the restaurant is properly prepared and ready before each service.
Conduct daily briefings and allocate duties and sections to team members.
Supervise service associates throughout the shift and ensure high standards of service are maintained.
Ensure tables, service stations, bar areas and equipment are properly set up and maintained.
Coordinate closely with the Kitchen, Bar and other departments to ensure smooth service.
Ensure opening and closing procedures are correctly completed.
Support restaurant and bar service whenever operationally required.
Guest Service
Welcome guests and ensure professional, attentive and personalized service.
Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the service.
Handle guest requests and minor complaints promptly and professionally.
Escalate significant guest complaints or incidents to the Outlet Manager or Manager on Duty.
Ensure guest preferences, allergies and special requirements are properly communicated and followed.
Thank departing guests and seek feedback on their experience.
Team Supervision
Supervise, guide and motivate Food & Beverage team members during operations.
Monitor employee grooming, punctuality, conduct and service performance.
Assist with the training, coaching and integration of new team members.
Ensure employees understand and consistently follow the Hotel’s service standards and SOPs.
Promote teamwork, professionalism and a positive working environment.
Report performance, attendance or disciplinary concerns to the Outlet Manager.
Beverage, Stock & Cost Control
Assist with the ordering and control of beverage and operational stocks.
Participate in stock counts and inventories as required.
Ensure beverages and supplies are correctly stored and handled.
Monitor wastage, breakage and stock discrepancies and report any irregularities.
Ensure proper billing, cash-handling and payment procedures are followed.
Support upselling and suggestive selling initiatives to contribute to outlet revenue.
Quality, Hygiene & Safety
Ensure restaurant, bar and service areas are maintained to the required cleanliness and presentation standards.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety requirements.
Ensure all equipment is correctly used and report maintenance requirements promptly.
Ensure the team follows all applicable Hotel quality standards and service procedures.
Report all accidents, incidents and safety concerns immediately.
Training & Communication
Attend all training programmes, departmental briefings and meetings as scheduled.
Communicate relevant operational information and Management instructions to the team.
Ensure proper handover between shifts.
Maintain effective communication with the Outlet Manager and other departments.
D. GENERAL
Maintain professional appearance, conduct, honesty and integrity at all times.
Act as a role model for Food & Beverage team members.
Work flexible hours according to operational requirements, including special functions and events.
Perform any other reasonable duties or special assignments given by Management within the scope of the position.
