Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional French Teacher with a passion for education, creativity, dedication, and a proven track record of excellence. The successful applicant will teach French as a Foreign Language to Upper Primary and Secondary School students, delivering engaging and innovative lessons that foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a love of learning
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver lessons with clear objectives and assessments.
- Set challenging tasks to maintain interest and build on prior attainment.
- Cater to individual student needs and maintain lesson structure, pace and motivation
- Use diverse teaching methods, including questioning, resource selection and study skill development.
- Ensure effective use of time, assessments and school policies on discipline, behaviour and homework.
- Contribute to curriculum development with clear targets and success criteria.
- Act as class tutor, supporting the progress and well-being of students.
- Register attendance, encourage participation and address individual student concerns.
- Prepare reports and action plans and communicate with staff about student needs.
- To support break and lunch supervision during term time
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant subject area or B.Ed.
- Post Graduate Certificate of Education or a certificate of equivalence.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of teaching French as a foreign language experience in secondary section.
- Experience in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
- Ability to set clear expectations and stretch goals.
- A depth of understanding in the relevant subject area.
- Ability to judge learning effectiveness.
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and a growth mindset.
- Genuine care and attention for the highest standards of student welfare.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in IGCSE, A Level and IBDP Programmes
- Previous experience in an international school setting
