Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Hotel Maintenance Manager in the North to oversee all maintenance and engineering operations within our hotel. The successful candidate will ensure that all facilities, equipment and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe, comfortable and well-maintained environment for our guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance operations of the hotel.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Oversee repairs and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, plant rooms, pools and all hotel facilities.
  • Supervise and lead the maintenance team, including scheduling and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health regulations, fire safety requirements and hotel standards.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, purchasing and contractor relationships.
  • Monitor utility consumption and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and guest-related requests.
  • Coordinate renovation and capital improvement projects where required.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general building maintenance.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with hotel maintenance or property management systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be available for emergency callouts when required.
