The Shop Supervisor has the authority of supervising, directing, and motivating a team consisting of an Assistant Shop Supervisor and Sales Representatives by promoting their professional and personal development

 

Key & Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily shop operations in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the opening and closing of the shop at designated times, ensuring the team follows operational instructions.
  • Ensure stock levels are regularly reviewed and maintained, supervise stock replenishment, product rotation and manage overstock of products.
  • Manage inventories and daily cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Identify and report any shop maintenance and security issues to the Head of Retail and provide solutions when possible.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate the team, focusing on enhancing their product knowledge, and delegate tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the shop, including displays, counters, and storage areas, as well as overseeing outdoor maintenance (if applicable).
  • Actively promote and sell 20/Vin products while delivering excellent customer service in line with established standards.
  • Achieve sales forecast, increase average basket and focus on high margin products.
  • Retain existing clients through the Grays Club Loyalty Program, ensuring it is properly explained to both new and returning customers.
  • Communicate shop objectives such as sales targets, gross profit, client retention, and new client recruitment to the team.
  • Respect and ensure compliance with the planogram policy.
  • Organise and actively participate in themed months, wine tasting events, and other promotional activities within the shop.
  • Conduct tasting sessions to educate customers about products, boosting knowledge and sales.
  • Address and resolve complaints efficiently, escalating to the Head of Retail when necessary.
  • Develop and optimise monthly team rosters.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and compliance with bank deposit procedures.
  • Ensure team’s compliance to the Leaves procedures on the SESS Portal
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer data on system.

 Education and Competences

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Sales of Wine and Spirits products.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in team management within a retail setting.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in shifts.
  • Passion for customer service, sales, and product knowledge.
  • High School Certificate (HSC) required; Diploma in Marketing or Sales would be an advantage.
  • Fluent in English, French and Creole.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, embodying the company’s values and passion for its products.
  • Dynamic, service-minded, organised and strong team player.

  • Demonstrate aaccountability, versatility, and adaptability.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise, organise and delegate tasks effectively.
