Our client in the construction sector is seeking to recruit a Transport Manager who will report to the Planning & Logistic Manager.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage vehicle routes and projects and allocate staff resources according to changing needs.
  • Organise and monitor the flow and distribution of materials to the right location on time and at effective transportation costs.
  • Analyse logistical problems and produce new solutions to Management.
  • Monitor transport costs.
  • Negotiate and bargain transportation prices.
  • Ensure that company vehicles are maintained as per set health, safety and security standards.
  • Conduct regular transport surveys.
  • Collect, compile and analyse data required for planning, costing and tariff setting purposes.
  • Keep a constant liaison with the service providers for the smooth running of the day-to-day operations.
  • Check the conditions of the vehicles and ensure the drivers are adhering to local laws.
  • Investigate transport related issues reported by operations.
  • Follow up on claims, invoices and payment.
Profile:

  • Degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven working experience in a similar position.
  • Fully conversant with MS Office applications, Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently and being result oriented.
  • Quick response for resolving operational issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
