Our client, a healthcare provider in Mauritius is seeking to recruit a Store Officer/Supervisor. The Store Officer/Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse or store, ensuring efficient management of inventory and logistics activities.

 

 This position requires strong leadership skills to supervise storekeepers and ensure smooth workflow, while also maintaining accurate records and optimizing storage practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the receiving, storing, and issuing of goods to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for stock replenishment.
  • Conduct regular audits and physical inventory counts to reconcile.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security procedures for the storage and handling of goods.
  • Implement efficient warehouse layout and storage practices to maximize space utilization.
  • Lead and supervise a team of storekeepers, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Motivate team members to achieve departmental goals and maintain high standards of performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, stock levels, and warehouse activities.
  • Generate reports on inventory status, consumption, and trends for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
  • Coordinate with logistics and transportation providers to optimize delivery schedules.
  • Resolve any issues related to order fulfillment, including customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Participate in strategic planning and initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and achieve operational excellence.
Profile:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Diploma in warehouse management or logistics is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior warehouse or storekeeping role, with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze data for informed decision-making.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
