The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining or event areas, providing exceptional customer service, and assisting with various operational tasks.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain cleanliness of the entire assigned work area.
  • Clean the kitchen premises and ensure that they are kept in the required state of tidiness and cleanliness at all times.
  • Ensure that clean and sanitized operating equipment is always available
  • Employ the hotel’s standards and methods of cleaning and sanitizing.
  •  Operate dishwashers.
  • Store away equipment in their appropriate places.
  • Clear away bins and dispose of garbage.
  • Report all breakage to the chief steward.
  • Do the inventory of amenities and supplier.
  • Ensure that any breakdown of equipment and services are immediately reported and dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
  • Adhere to the dress, appearance and codes of conduct established by the hotel.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to fire alarm or any emergency statutory procedures in the event of fire.
  •  Any other duties as assigned by management.

Candidate profile's:

  • Grade 9 or any other equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as steward or in any other similar position.
  • Team oriented.
