The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining or event areas, providing exceptional customer service, and assisting with various operational tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain cleanliness of the entire assigned work area.
- Clean the kitchen premises and ensure that they are kept in the required state of tidiness and cleanliness at all times.
- Ensure that clean and sanitized operating equipment is always available
- Employ the hotel’s standards and methods of cleaning and sanitizing.
- Operate dishwashers.
- Store away equipment in their appropriate places.
- Clear away bins and dispose of garbage.
- Report all breakage to the chief steward.
- Do the inventory of amenities and supplier.
- Ensure that any breakdown of equipment and services are immediately reported and dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
- Adhere to the dress, appearance and codes of conduct established by the hotel.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Adhere to fire alarm or any emergency statutory procedures in the event of fire.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Candidate profile's:
- Grade 9 or any other equivalent qualifications.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as steward or in any other similar position.
- Team oriented.
