We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee infrastructure projects in Rodrigues. You will manage site operations, lead teams, and handle resources and challenges. Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you will work closely to ensure efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Management: Oversee the execution of infrastructure works on-site, managing teams and ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the required standard. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations and assisting the Senior Site Manager in ensuring smooth operations.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage multiple work teams, ensuring they are well-organized, motivated, and working efficiently. You will coordinate and plan daily activities while promoting a high-performance culture, maintaining safety, and meeting quality standards.
- Laboratory and Topographical Operations: Supervise the local laboratory and topographical teams. You will coordinate their activities to ensure alignment with site needs and accurate execution of work.
- Fleet and Equipment Management: Manage the site's fleet and equipment, ensuring machinery is well-maintained, operational, and efficiently used. Participate in decisions regarding equipment logistics, repairs, and maintenance.
- Industrial and Supplier Relations: Engage with suppliers and industries to ensure the timely procurement and delivery of materials and services.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Work with the Senior Site Manager to ensure all health and safety protocols are adhered to on-site. You will assist in implementing safety measures, conducting audits, and ensuring all team members are trained and equipped to work safely.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, clients, engineering teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders. You will represent the company on-site and address any issues or concerns under the guidance of the Senior Site Manager.
Requirements:
- Education: A relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certification in site management or health and safety is a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects, particularly roadworks and related activities. Experience in managing large teams and overseeing all aspects of site management is essential.
- Autonomy: While the position reports to the Senior Site Manager, it requires a high degree of initiative, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with experience managing multiple teams. You must be capable of motivating teams, overseeing productivity, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of roadworks techniques, laboratory management, topographical operations, and equipment/fleet management.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills in both English and French, with the ability to engage with various stakeholders, including local authorities, clients, and suppliers.
- Problem-Solving and Initiative: A proactive mindset, capable of taking the initiative to address challenges independently while collaborating with the Senior Site Manager.
- Ethics and Integrity: A strong commitment to ethical practices, safety, quality, and professionalism.
- Willingness to Relocate: This role requires relocation to Rodrigues, where you will manage the site operations under the supervision of the Senior Site Manager.
