Our Client in the financial industry is looking for a Sanctions Analyst. The Sanctions Analyst conducts screening and reviews submissions from the underwriting team in order to protect the Company from financial crime and sanctions risk.
Main Purpose:
The analyst is responsible for the review and investigation risks of financial crime risks, building key relationships with stakeholders to ensure that the Compliance checks are maintained to a high standard to protect Company from financial crime and sanctions risks.
Role Responsibilities:
- Financial crime & Sanctions checks relating to risk submit from underwriters, accurate input of client details int the search portal
- Undertaking enhanced due diligence where required
- Collaboration with underwriters and Compliance Manager to obtain further information from clients or third parties where further information is required
- Ensures timely and consistent escalation of sanctions risks to Compliance Manager and CRO
- Assist with broker on boarding and managing TOBA’s
- Assist with completion of underwriting checklists
- Assist with developing and managing an annual regulatory and compliance review programme and plan
- Assist with completing the local risk assessment and Monthly notification report
- Assist the deputy MLRO in his/her duties
- Undertake ad hoc tasks given by both Compliance Manager and CRO
Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Finance, Law or any equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Good conceptual understanding of risk, compliance and controls
- Demonstrates attention to detail
- Excellent French & English written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical skills
- Works collaboratively and establishes trusted relationships
- Proactively identifies and attempts to resolve issues
- Broad understanding of financial crime risk in insurance/AML CFT and Know Your Customer requirements
- Financial sanctions knowledge
