Wecycle Ltd is hiring for the position of Safety and Health Officer (Part time).
The selected candidate will be a key player in promoting workplace safety, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
The incumbent will be responsible to:
- Advise on, recommend and ensure implementation of all obligations imposed by law with respect to Safety & Health matters.
- Perform and update risks assessments for the Factory.
- Set up a proper H & S policy, answering to the needs of the resort and supporting the development of OSH policies and programs.
- Follow up on all legal requirements including fire certificates, premises’ and dormitories’ permits.
- Health & Safety Inspections of premises including dormitories and provision of visit report shall be made on a regular basis.
- Assist any inspection done by the Ministry of Labour and Fire Services
- Conduct safety induction sessions every time new team members are recruited as well as on the job training.
- Perform regular site visits to ensure the safety of any person on the company premises.
- Provide risk mitigation strategies and recommendations to the leadership team on best practices.
- Ensure all notifiable machineries are inspected as per OSHA 2005.
- Planning of training requirements and ensure that number of first aiders are as per legal requirements.
- Ensuring that all PPEs are according to norms and certificates of compliance.
- Produce comprehensive accident investigation reports and follow up accordingly.
- To provide Monthly Health & Safety reports (injury, recommendations, meetings and accident).
- Ensure that all Fire Equipment and First Aid Kits are verified by concerned departments on a frequent basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
- Diploma Holder in Occupational Health & Safety from a recognised institution as defined in the OSHA 2005.
- Advanced or Higher qualifications in Occupational Safety and Health would be a definite advantage.
PREVIOUS PERFORMANCE
- A minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar position.
- Working experience in the manufacturing industry would constitute a strong advantage.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Registered Health & Safety Officer under the OSHA 2005.
- Passionate about service.
- High levels of integrity.
- Proactive, dynamic, flexible and professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fully conversant in Food Safety and HACCP.
- Well versed in Health & Safety Management trends.
- Strong knowledge of accident and incident investigations.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Package.
- Excellent written and communication skills in both English, hindi and French languages.
- Clean certificate of character is a must.
