MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines will be explained as a part of the orientation process.
- Perform all necessary cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, dusting and polishing furniture cleaning balconies and washing windows.
- Always ensure cleanliness of assigned corridors and organize housekeeping trolleys.
- Adhere to procedures and ensure all rooms are cleaned and tidied according to department standards.
- Make beds, change linens and replenish towels and toiletries.
- Clean bathrooms, including sinks, toilets and showers.
- Collect laundry and dry cleaning for guests.
- Strip dirty linens, towels and remove used amenities from rooms.
- Respond to guest requests and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Exercise tact and discretion when dealing with guests, and guests’ property.
- Always respect guest privacy and confidentiality.
- Check all room equipment such as lights, TVs, phones and air conditioning to ensure they are in good working order.
- Perform maintenance check and report any maintenance issues, damage, safety hazards, shortcomings, and disturbances to Supervisors.
- Check and maintain room amenities stock levels.
- Follow all procedures with regards to Green Key and other environmental programs in place.
- Provide Go-Extra-Mile Service.
- Clean and maintain all the equipment daily.
- Follow the schedule of deep cleaning and/or special tasks given by the Supervisor.
- Ensure lost and found items are properly logged and stored; comply with the lost and found policy of the hotel.
- Have good knowledge of all hotel facilities and hours of operation.
- Participate in training and development programs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene rules and regulations.
- Any other cognate duties may be assigned.
CRITERIA
- School Certificate or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a Cleaner, Room Attendant, or equivalent is preferred.
- Fluency in English and French; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team efficiently, while maintaining a high quality.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and techniques, proper storage and disposal methods.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Project a positive and professional image of the company always.
- Friendly and respectful when dealing with guests and fellow colleagues.
- High level of propriety and concern regarding guests’ privacy.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
