Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Purchasing in the procurement of goods at both local and international level
- Process and follow up international purchasing transactions
- Input purchase orders into system and codify all goods according to company policy
- Deal with the forwarding agents, insurance and any regulatory bodies
- Prepare and maintain all purchasing documents and records
- Ensure that all filings are up to date, well maintained and easily accessible
- Closely monitor and follow up on orders lead time and shipping of goods
- Update shipment time of arrival and advise management of any delays
- Deal with suppliers as and when required ensuring good communication, procedures and relationships are maintained
- Perform any administrative work that may be required by management
- Perform any cognate duties that may be assigned from time to time
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum HSC level with at least 2 years experience in Imports and Exports
- Sound knowledge of import and procurement procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong level of written and spoken French and English
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
