We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Officer to manage and process employee payroll in compliance with Mauritian labor laws and statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate salary computation, timely payments, and efficient reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process monthly payroll in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and other allowances.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations, including:PAYE, NPF/NPS, NSF, HRDC Levy and Training Levy.
- Submit monthly and annual returns to the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) and other relevant bodies.
- Maintain and update employee records related to payroll, leave, benefits, and deductions.
- Prepare and distribute payslips and ensure timely bank transfers.
- Handle new employee onboarding, resignation settlements, and exit clearances.
- Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations for management and auditors.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll data.
- Stay updated with labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll software systems.
Qualifications and skills:
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Solid understanding of Mauritian employment and tax laws.
- Proficient in payroll software (e.g., Wagebox, Sicorax, QuickBooks, or equivalent).
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work on odd hours or Public Holidays.
- Clean Certificate of character.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
