The Field Officer will be responsible for planning and executing agricultural activities, following the guidelines set by the Irrigation Manager.
Oversee the proper operation and maintenance of all irrigation systems (centre pivot, linear move, dragline, drip) assigned by the Irrigation Manager.
Collaborate with a team of field technicians across various sugarcane production zones.
Identify and address issues within irrigation systems, ensuring timely repairs and troubleshooting.
Consult with Senior Area Manager and Field Technicians to ensure synchronization between farm operations and irrigation activities.
Work closely with the agronomy department on research and development projects, trials, and on-site tests.
Provide effective feedback on assigned tasks and monitor task progress.
Assist in implementing technology-driven irrigation techniques.
Ensure that all agricultural activities related to irrigation meet quality standards.
Perform administrative duties related to irrigation activities.
Uphold health and safety standards in all tasks performed.
Candidate Profile:
A Diploma in Civil Engineering with evidence of completion of a hydraulics module or an equivalent technical qualification related to irrigation.
A valid motorcycle driver’s license is a must.
A valid manual driver’s license is preferred.
Sound knowledge of sugarcane cultivation is an advantage.
Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
