The main purpose of this role is to support the payroll services provided to some of the entities in the Group. Objectives are to deliver timely and accurate processing services for Payroll.

Position Summary:

The main purpose of this role is to support the payroll services provided to some of the entities in the Group. Objectives are to deliver timely and accurate processing services for Payroll.

Allocation of entities may vary through time. The region considered is Africa region with support to SA and Ghana.

Under the supervision of senior colleagues and team lead of the activity the role fosters a superior service capability with strict adherence to compliance frameworks for Payroll.

 

Primary Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Processing Field Payroll Input (Processing commissions / Deducting PVT Mileages / Unpaid Leave / Maternity Leave / AOD deductions / Terminating employees etc.)
  • Month-end 3rd Party Payments such as Medical Aid / Provident / Pension Fund payments / SARS / Labor Department
  • Reconciling PAYE / SDL / UIF for MMS / Popimedia
  • Do a PAYE Transfer request monthly from the different Agency bank accounts to MMS Bank Account
  • Doing Ad-Hoc payments such as AOD / Advance payments
  • Month-end Reports for the India Team (3 Way Reports for India Team)
  • Month-end Reports for Agency (Leave Liability Report / AOD Report / OID Report / O1 Report / Costing Report / ESS Claims Report)
  • Ghana Monthly Statutory Reports
  • SA Monthly Compliance Sheets
  • Actioning Zero EMP201’s on e-fling for Dormant Companies
  • Actioning Zero EMP501’s on e-filing for Dormant Companies for Mid-Year as well as Tax Year end
  • Salary journals on Navision
  • Perm and Field monthly GL downloads
  • Balance Sheet recons
  • ESS queries such as activating ESS for new employees or resetting passwords for employees
  • Sending out IRP5’s for all existing and exiting staff
  • Send Provident / Pension fund withdrawal forms to Discovery after employees terminated on payroll and Premium paid for last contribution
  • Assist with Audit requirements on South African and Ghana payrolls
  • WCA Payments yearly
  • Rolling over Payroll period to new month after all month-end payments and GL downloads are done
  • Providing SAMDM team the monthly employee lists for both MMS and Ghana
  • Follow-up monthly that Agency Finance sends the Ghana TAX and SNITT payments as well as Compliance sheet for this to be saved on our server
  • Assisting the Payroll Manager with tasks as and when it arises

 

Qualifications

  • Qualified Payroll professional (or equivalent) with solid experience, ideally with at least 2 years’ post qualification experience in Payroll SSC environment.
  • Junior position possible with adequate training and academic experience.

 

Skills (including technology)

  • HR capacity – South African and Ghana standards a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong ability to work under pressure, flexibility, attention to detail and priorities related issues.
