RESPONSIBILITIES
Solana Beach Mauritius is actually looking for a Pastry Sous Chef with the following profile:
- Plans, coordinates and supervises his team with the assigned work activity and ensure consistent quality in the preparation of bakery/ desserts
- Maintains controls over assigned budget areas of food, supply, and labor costs, taking corrective action as needed to meet budget expectations
- Introduce new desserts/pastries for innovation
- Promoting high standard within the pastry department
- Ensure Health & Safety Standards with the pastry departments
- Develop cooking and preparation of all the pastries within the kitchen's required standard
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- - Minimum SC
- - Award certificate from the Hotel School
- - 10 years experience in a pastry/ bakery environment
- - 5 years at a supervisory level
- - Working experience with sugar and chocolate will be an advantage
REQUIRED SKILLS
- - Creative and innovative
- - Good communication skills
- - Good leadership skills with a minimum 5 years in a supervisory position
- - Cost conscious
- - Willingness to work odd hours
