SOS Children’s Villages Mauritius provides family-like alternative care (residential care) in SOS Children’s Villages and Houses Integrated in the Community to children whose parents are unable to care after them. We also aim to empower vulnerable families to prevent child neglect and abandonment.
Requirement:Master’s degree in Psychology from a recognised institution.
Related experience as psychologist, counsellor or therapist with children and adolescents essential.
Updated Certificate of Character
Professional accreditation would be an advantage
Key Duties and Responsibilities:Provide individual and group counselling and therapy to children, adolescents, caregivers and families.
Work with children and adolescents at risks addressing traumas due to various forms of abuse.
Conduct regular assessments of children in SOS Alternative Care and make recommendations.
Follow up psychosocial progress, propose remedial actions and prepare reports accordingly.
Prepare and monitor implementation of psychotherapeutic programme and interventions strategies to address behavioural, emotional, and sexuality concerns, inter alia.
Work in close collaboration with and guide other co-workers on treatment plans.
Prepare periodic reports for and other stakeholders.
Candidates will offer their services on a session basis and be remunerated accordingly.
