The Maintenance Officer ensures mall facilities, utilities, and equipment run safely and efficiently by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of the mall premises, facilities, and equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks as per schedule (e.g., HVAC systems, elevators, escalators, plumbing, lighting).
Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical issues
Ensure all maintenance works are compliant with occupational health and safety regulations.
Identify and report safety hazards; take immediate corrective actions when necessary.
Participate in regular safety drills, inspections, and audits.
Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies (e.g., water leaks, electrical faults, fire alarms).
Provide support during evacuations or critical incidents affecting mall operations.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and prepare periodic reports.
Job Requirements
Certificate or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, or related fields.
Additional certifications (e.g., Electrical License, HVAC Certification) are an advantage.
2-3 years' experience in a facilities maintenance role, preferably in retail, commercial, or mall environments.
Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection).
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work on weekends, public holidays, or respond to after-hours emergencies.
