We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Coordinator to support the design management team within our building division.
The successful candidate will oversee the coordination of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems throughout the design development process, ensuring seamless integration with architectural and structural elements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate MEP design activities across all building projects in collaboration with consultants, architects and structural engineers.
- Review and assess MEP drawings, specifications and design documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and local regulations.
- Facilitate design reviews and resolve clashes between MEP and other disciplines using tools such as BIM or clash detection software.
- Work closely with the design management team to ensure MEP designs align with project timelines, budgets and quality standards.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure MEP designs are practical, efficient and cost-effective.
- Monitor the implementation of MEP elements during construction to ensure alignment with the approved designs.
- Participate in technical meetings and design workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support value engineering processes by identifying opportunities for optimisation in MEP systems.
Profile & Skills Required:
- Degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in MEP coordination, ideally within building projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and building construction methods.
- Experience in the construction industry would be a strong advantage.
- Excellent coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple design packages simultaneously.
- Familiarity with local standards and international best practices.
