he Linen Supervisor typically works in the hotel’s laundry or linen room and may be required to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, depending on the hotel’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Linen Management:
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of linens, towels, and uniforms.
- Ensure that all linens are properly cleaned, pressed, and folded according to hotel standards.
- Inspect linens for damage or wear and organize repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of linen inventory and usage to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Team Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of linen room staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Ensure that staff follow all safety and hygiene protocols.
- Provide guidance and support to staff to improve efficiency and maintain high-quality standards.
Inventory Control:
- Conduct regular inventory checks to monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
- Work closely with the purchasing department to manage linen procurement and budget.
- Implement and maintain inventory management systems to track linen usage and losses.
Coordination with Laundry Services:
- Liaise with external laundry services or the hotel’s in-house laundry to ensure timely and efficient processing of linens.
- Address any issues related to laundry quality or delays with the laundry service provider.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all linens meet the hotel’s quality standards before being distributed to various departments.
- Implement procedures to prevent loss, theft, or damage of linens.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, particularly in handling chemicals and operating laundry equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the linen room at all times.
Reporting:
- Prepare and submit reports on linen usage, inventory levels, and any issues related to linen management to the Executive Housekeeper.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting linen requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in hospitality or housekeeping management is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel environment.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy loads, such as linen bundles.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
