Kolos is recruiting a Laboratory Technician

 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine and non-routine tests and analyses.
  • Receive, collect and process samples.
  • Perform quality control and conduct/assist in calibration of equipment.
  • Liaise with laboratory service providers and other defined parties.
  • Ensure proper order of laboratory consumables and inventory.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports for laboratory management.
  • Ensure cleaning and good housekeeping of laboratory and related equipment.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control.
  • Assist in all administrative works.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable management system.
  • Responsible for the conformity of product manufactured in Mauritius with regards to the standards in force.
  • Ensure continuous quality improvement through laboratory tests.
  • Ensure quality control is conducted.
  • Ensure monitoring and measurement of laboratory and equipment controls.
  • Conduct investigation of customer complaints.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory activities.
  • Ensure efficient use of laboratory resources.
  • Collaborate with other departments, to ensure quality, environmental, safety and Laboratory management.
  • Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules & regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and applicable local legal environmental regulations.
  • Keep track of laboratory reports and payment.
  • Comply with data protection regulations when handling personal data (e.g., customer information in complaints).
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of test results and other sensitive laboratory data.
  • Promote and assist in continuous performance improvement of the Integrated Management System.

KEY COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in laboratory operations
  • Good Knowledge in Cement and Concrete testing.
  • Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Report Writing
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and result-focused
  • Good time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Working effectively within a team
