As a Junior Accountant/Auditor, you will play a dual role, gaining experience in both accounting and auditing functions. This is an excellent opportunity for recent HSC holders and graduates to build a strong foundation in both areas. You will support our senior accountants and auditors, assisting with financial reporting, audits, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Roles and responsibilities
- Perform basic audit tests, ensuring proper documentation for senior staff or management review.
- Analyze client data from books and records, engaging with clients and stakeholders to gather appropriate audit evidence.
- Participate in the planning, execution, and conclusion of audit assignments to assist senior staff or managers.
- Accurately post sales and purchase invoices and reconcile bank transactions on accounting platforms such as QuickBooks.
- Manage the accounts payable cycle, providing listings as requested by clients.
- Collaborate with clients to ensure accurate accounting records and incorporate transactions into financial disclosures appropriately.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform regular reconciliations of accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Deliver high-quality management and statutory accounts.
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting and auditing processes and suggest enhancements.
- Keep detailed and organized records to support financial audits and reporting requirements.
- Work closely with senior accountants and auditors on various projects and tasks, contributing to the overall success of the team.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your accounting and auditing skills.
- Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements.
- Adhere to GDPR and Data Protection Act.
- Adhere to all Risk & Compliance procedures in line with company and the client's expectations.
- Ensure project reports and SLA& KPI reports are updated.
- Analyze budget and timetable, bringing matters to the attention of the senior or manager in case of any discrepancy arising.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Higher School Certificate or partly ACA/ACCA qualified.
- Internship or entry-level experience in accounting or auditing will be an advantage.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
