As an Italian Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of Italian Cuisine.

 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop menus that highlight traditional and modern Italian cuisine, showcasing a variety of dishes such as pasta, pizza, antipasti, seafood, and regional specialties.
  • Innovate and experiment with recipes to create unique and seasonal menu offerings while preserving authentic Italian flavors.
  • Stay updated with the latest culinary trends and incorporate new techniques, ingredients, and industry practices into menu development.
  • Interact with customers to understand their preferences and ensure an exceptional dining experience, responding to feedback and adjusting offerings accordingly.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members are following proper culinary techniques, safety protocols, and maintaining the quality and consistency of dishes.
  • Manage food inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels, minimizing waste, and maintaining cost control by tracking orders and supplies
  • To ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining KPI target of a 4.5 rating
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations 
  • Work under the guidance and direction of the Executive Chef, who will provide suggestions and final approval on menu items, presentation, and overall execution.

QUALITIES:

  • Culinary Degree or equivalent certification in the culinary arts 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Italian Chef in an Italian restaurant 
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations 
  • Creativity and ability to develop new and innovative Italian dishes 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills 
  • Passion for Italian cuisine and commitment to delivering high quality dishes that exceed customers expectations 
  • Good mentor with humble and respectful approach to subordinates 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and French; proficiency in Italian is a plus 
  • Customer relationship skills and abilities
