Heading a team of professionals, the IOM will be called to oversee one of the fastest growing cluster of the firm requiring the expert handling of complex investment operations.
Summary:
The Investment Operations Manager will oversee the administration and operational management of a diverse portfolio of investment entities. This role will be central in the execution of complex investment transactions and requires execution excellence on a wide variety of workstreams (including but not limited to administrative, legal & regulatory, finance and accounting). This role is also central in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, streamlining operational processes, and delivering exceptional service to clients. The manager will also focus on risk management,
fostering team collaboration, and driving operational excellence within the investment domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Operations
- Oversee operational processes of investment transactions, including trade execution.
- Maintain accurate records of investments and transactions in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Ensure execution of transactions documents, including ‘Share Purchase Agreements’ and ‘Facility Agreements’.
- Portfolio Management:
- Oversee the operations of a portfolio of investment entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all transactions.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing queries and requests promptly.
- Operational Excellence:
- Act as a project manager, ensuring the timely and efficient execution of investment-related transactions.
- o Review and maintain detailed records of client files, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
o Ensure filing with authorities, liaising with clients, and meeting statutory deadlines.
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to local and international regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and KYC processes.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to manage audits and regulatory inspections.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with investment activities.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and trust.
- Address client complaints swiftly and effectively.
- Strategic Contributions:
- Collaborate with senior management and directors on proposals for new clients, , including pitch meetings.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Drive process improvements and propose innovative solutions for operational challenges.
- Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure adherence to applicable laws, licensing conditions, and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor and enhance internal systems and processes to maintain compliance standards.
- Technology and Systems
- Oversee the integration and maintenance of investment management systems and tools.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Conduct performance appraisals, identify training needs, and support professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative, client-focused, and performance-driven working environment.
- Other Duties:
- Handle legal and transactional documents, including NDAs and investment agreements.
- Participate in strategic projects and initiatives as required by the business.
Qualifications and Skills:- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Professional qualifications will be an advantage.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in investment operations, fund management, fund administration or a similar role.
- Proven expertise in managing investment transactions and client relationships.
- Core Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You need to be able to write clearly and succinctly in English.
- Strong project management skills, with an understanding of critical path thinking
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, with a high degree of computer literacy.
- Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.
