Our client is an accountancy and IT business based in Manchester in the UK. Due to continued growth in both parts of the business, they are recruiting a Systems Engineer to support the helpdesk team both in Mauritius and the UK.

 

The successful candidate needs to have the pre-requisite IT experience of 5 years+ in a relevant position andpreferably with a Microsoft Certified Qualification (MCP, MCSA & MCSE) for this Tier 2 / 3 equivalent supportrole. Cloud Infrastructure experience and a project / consultative approach are essential.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Infrastructure migration, implementation and management for clients. 
  • Monitor IT helpdesk/support mailbox and respond to client support requests within agreed SLA time. 
  • Check server backups daily & resolve errors if any 
  • Carry out scheduled server maintenance work 
  • Maintain Client Assets Register 
  • Project work incl. new implementations 
  • Carry out scheduled Client Site Visits 
  • Prioritise tasks based on “Urgency vs Impact = Priority” levels 
  • Provide timely break fix work to client’s IT systems – via various media 
  • Make longer term break fix recommendations that are both cost effective and commercially viable 
  • Involved in the formulation and implementation of robust client IT strategies, policies and procedures 
  • Be pro-active in identifying recurring issues that may impact other clients and acting accordingly 
  • Help the company be pro-active and implement effective IT strategy, policy and procedure
  • Management of security tools used across our client base, including the policies that are pushed out to clients computers 
  • Actively monitor security trends and suggest, document and enforce security improvements across our client base 

Abilities, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or any relevant field.
  • 5 years+ IT Infrastructure & Support experience 
  • Infrastructure implementation & migration - incl - Office 365/SharePoint Design & Implementation 
  • Microsoft Certified Qualification is desirable, MS-100 would be very desirable
  • Excellent Organisation skills and able to prioritise workloads
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Ability to communicate well with a wide variety of users from Directors to junior team members
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders who have a wide range of IT literacy
  • Can-do attitude with the requirement to act quickly and understand client concerns around IT

Experience with: 

  • Azure Cloud Computing 
  • MS 365 and MS Office 365, inc Teams, Exchange Online, Sharepoint Online, Intune Endpoint Management 
  • MSP RMM tools 
  • VMware & Hyper-V Virtual platforms 
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP 
  • Veeam and/or Acronis 
  • Networking / Firewall configuration – VLANing, VPN’s, port forwarding etc 
  • Windows Server – all flavours 
  • TCP/IP Networking 
  • Windows desktop – all flavours 
  • MacOS – All flavours 
  • Android and iOS Device Management 
  • Powershell Scripting 
  • Server Installation experience 
  • Full clean driving licence essential 

Working hours: Monday to Friday - 11:00 - 18:30/12:00 -19:00
