As part of the new organization at Hardy Henry Services Ltee, the IT department has led to the creation of an exciting new job position which is the “IT Officer”. As part of this new working position, you will assist the Supply Chain, IT & Compliance Manager in managing diverse IT duties.
KEY WORK OUTPUTS | IT DUTIES
- Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications for the admin.
- Monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting system, network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults for e.g. To ensure printer set up and login through network deployment.
- Providing support: on the roll-out of new applications for mobile phone and tablet equipment, On Microsoft Office Suite, Windows OS, Android.
- Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues on Active Directory, Exchange mail.
- To ensure the availability, performance and security of IT systems
- To prepare tender specifications and advise on the selection of computer hardware and software, as required.
- To co-ordinate repairs and preventive maintenance of hardware and systems software with relevant suppliers.
- To key a record of all IT machine and make an inventory when need,
- To carry out assessment of and relevant audit of firms under the Certification Schemes
- To establish and maintain operating IT policies and best practices for IT Infrastructure and Security Management.
- To liaise with the relevant third-party vendors on support and maintenance of servers network equipment, telephony System, Telecommunication Lines and user Devices, Printers and any other equipment.
- Any other tasks
- Supervise and assist on spot IT cognate duties which could arise on the ticket rotation system and trouble shoot any IT backlog issues (Server, Client, IT contractors…) with the IT Support .
- Be the first point of contact with respect to IT related contractors.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES
- Self-starter takes initiative. Good problem-solving skills, Excellent time management & Excellent communication skills. Good planning, time management and organizational skill.
- Quick learner in data extraction process.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with the service department and offer support to staff and suppliers alike.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; able to simplify complex issues, present compelling proposals, and promote technical and business credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated rapid decision-making skills.
- Bachelor Degree or any other relevant qualifications
- 3 years experience in the IT department
- Ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives in a solution oriented.
- Proficient in Windows client, Windows Active Directory as well as in Android environment (including VMWare One Enrolment).
- Be a proficient computer user for client’s application as well as server application.
- Driving licence permit is a prerequisite.
