Incorporated in 2006, we specialise in delivering high-quality joinery and fit-out solutions for a variety of settings, including office spaces, retail environments, healthcare facilities, hotels, restaurants, high-end residential properties, and more.
If you are looking to join a dynamic and skilled team, we invite you to apply for the following position:
Interior Designer/Draughtsman
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop creative and functional design concepts for various projects, ranging from office spaces, retail environments, and hotels to high-end residential properties. Your designs will be centred on creating aesthetic, practical, and cost-effective solutions that align with the client’s needs and the company’s capabilities in joinery and fit-out services.
- Produce high-quality, detailed drawings, floor plans, elevations, and 3D models using AutoCAD and other design software. These should include precise specifications for materials, finishes, and dimensions tailored to the specific requirements of each project.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and other construction professionals to ensure seamless integration of the design with the construction process. This includes understanding the technical constraints of the project and adjusting designs accordingly to meet structural, budgetary, and timeline requirements.
- Leverage your knowledge of joinery and fit-out systems to ensure that designs are practical for implementation in real-world settings. You will create designs that can be easily translated into joinery work, ensuring functionality and aesthetic appeal, whether for retail spaces, luxury villas, or corporate offices.
- Regularly engage with clients to present design concepts, revisions, and finalised drawings. Address client feedback effectively, ensuring that their vision is accurately represented in the final design while maintaining feasibility within budget and project scope.
- Advise clients on the selection of appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that complement the design vision and meet the required standards of quality, durability, and cost-effectiveness for joinery and fit-out works.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure that designs are being executed correctly. Monitor the implementation of your designs and collaborate with contractors to resolve any on-site issues related to the fit-out or joinery, ensuring the final output matches the design intent.
- Tailor designs for bespoke joinery work and fittings, including custom-made furniture, cabinetry, wall panelling, and other specialised interior elements that are central to Ligne Doran’s service offering. Provide solutions that are adaptable to different project types, such as healthcare facilities, hotels, or residential homes.
- Ensure that all design documentation is prepared and delivered on time to meet project milestones. This includes finalising drawings for procurement and fabrication, coordinating with suppliers and contractors, and ensuring that all aspects of the design are fully specified for efficient production and installation.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends, materials, and technologies in interior design and construction, particularly those relevant to sustainable design practices and the efficient use of resources in joinery and fit-out projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in interior design and draughtsmanship, with a focus on joinery and fit-out works.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and other design and drafting software.
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, material properties, and finishes used in joinery and interior fit-outs.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, quantity surveyors, and contractors, to ensure design integrity and project success.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
