Assist the Executive Housekeeper in order to achieve and maintain the highest standards in cleanliness, hygiene and comfort. Achieve total guest satisfaction by providing service, which is the best in class, and maximize organizational profitability through effective utilization of all resources.
- Oversee the implementation of room standards and procedures as per LQA standards.
- Recommend changes on training needs on an ongoing basis.
- Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all rooms systems.
- Carries out daily inspection of rooms (occupied, vacant, arrival, departure, out of order, etc.) using standard checklist.
- Ensure daily inspections of hotel assets (vacuum cleaner, machines, etc.)
- Open and close the shift and ensure effective shift handover.
- Distribution and collection of keys.
- Ensure Lost & Found items are handed immediately to the Housekeeping Coordinator.
- Direct task allocations and change according to volume and peak periods.
- Perform quality inspections.
- Prioritize VIP or difficult guests.
- Liaise with Housekeeping Coordinator for guests and hotel requirements.
- Co-ordinate special projects (e.g stock inventories)
- Manage all special requests made by guests.
- Ensure consistency within the department.
- Ensure you have complete knowledge of hotel departments, service areas, layouts and facilities and the location of these.
- Supervise linen/guests supplies/chemical storage areas.
- Maintain adequate stock levels.
- Attends to VIP guest services and demands.
- Complete stock-takes as required.
- Conduct shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known.
- Report any maintenance request immediately to Operator/Housekeeping Coordinator and follow up for any delay to the Chief Engineer.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the immediate Superior/Head of Department from time to time.
- Develop department trainers in association with the Learning & Development and oversee all training activities within the department.
- Address any grievances and counseling issues among the staff in the department.
