The role includes leading curriculum development, interacting with partner universities, ensuring high academic standards, managing faculty, and collaborating with industry professionals to design and deliver cutting-edge executive programs. This role requires a blend of academic leadership, business acumen, and strategic vision to foster an innovative learning environment that meets the needs of both local and international students as well as corporate clients.
He/She will contribute to the enhancement of enrolment and the academic development of the students, including student information services, academic and counselling services, academic outreach, and quality assurance.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Development and Management
- Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of English language programs and executive education courses.
- Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction and implement strategies to enhance student recruitment and retention
- Promote the school’s courses and partnerships amongst secondary schools, parent-teachers’ associations and other bodies and stakeholders to attract new students
- Develop and execute a long-term vision for English and executive education programs, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
- Analyse market trends and student needs to inform program growth and expansion.
- Lead initiatives that drive innovation in teaching and learning methods, particularly in the realm of executive education.
- Ensure that curriculum content aligns with industry standards and market demands, incorporating the latest pedagogical methods.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the programs address current and emerging trends in executive education.
- Recruit and manage qualified instructors for both English programs and executive courses.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to foster faculty growth.
Student Engagement and Support
- To support the MCCI Business School students’ life cycle from recruitment, onboarding and examinations ensuring that they have the best possible student experience in Mauritius and in any other location where the school may operate.
- To ensure quality academic offerings and professional training programmes, support innovations in delivery and assessment methods that respond in a timely manner to a rapidly changing environment.
Executive Education Partnership Development
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients and industry leaders to develop bespoke executive education programs tailored to their needs.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as businesses, professional associations, and government agencies, to create co-branded or customized training solutions.
- Organize and manage executive workshops, seminars, and certification programs.
Budget and Resource Management
- Develop and manage budgets for English programs and executive education, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Identify potential funding sources, including grants and sponsorships, to support program growth and innovation.
- Ensure that proper logistics and resources are available for program delivery.
Accreditation and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all programs comply with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement quality assurance processes to maintain academic excellence and improve program outcomes.
- Lead the preparation of accreditation and audit documentation as required.
- To oversee organisation of assessments and the proper running of examinations in collaboration with local and international bodies.
- To abide by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Mauritius Qualification Authority (MQA) and other international regulatory bodies requirements and ensure that official syllabuses are strictly adhered to.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
- Master’s or PhD in Education, English Language Teaching, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in academic leadership, preferably in English language programs and/or executive education.
- Proven track record in curriculum development, faculty management, and student engagement.
- Experience in designing and delivering executive education programs for corporate clients is a strong asset.
